It starts from cube… then using the middle points of the edges the corners are cutted. The trianglular planes are used to form two shapes – folded and unfolded. The transition between them is inspired by Buckminister Fuller’s Jitterbug. The motion between every two triangular planes are the same. With similtaneaus rotation we can transform the shape. The tranformation is represented by series of tubes representing the edges with different rotation angle. On every triangle of the initial cube another cube is placed and then the operation is repeated several times to form the Cluster.

Mind the Box

The aggregation start from a simple box with A, B and C dimensions. The first two components are formed by 90deg rotating and copying the box along its A and B sides. The third one is a combination of component 1 and 2 formed by translation vertically. The grow continue by copying and 90deg rotation of component 3. Every next interation is 90deg rotation and copy of the generated structure.

The purpose of the project was to achieve complex aggregated shape by using set of elements interacting with each other by specific rules.In my case , I decided to go one step further and achieve different elements by using a rules to created each other element from the previous one. The whole aggregation can grow to each direction and split itself from each next loft. The one parameter that can be changed is the initial angle of twisting which defines the whole structure. The final result is achieved by using angle from 0 to 1 Pi ,thus showing the rotation of the aggregation in the space . The inclination is result of the initial axis of rotation – and edge of the box , not the center.

Parametric weaving consists of three components – A, B and C, that are composed of one element through its mirror reflection and rotation. The components A, B and C are connected to each other through face-to-face connection or through “hooking” to obtain the components from the first level of complexity. The bigger structures follow the logic of the smaller ones – connecting only to elements of a different type.

The aggregation starts from component 1, then the component is multiplicated 4 times and attached to each tip of the pyramid by the triangles formed by the dividing points. The result is pyramid- shaped form with cut vertices again with triangular form. The whole group of elements is multiplicated and attached to these triangles. In this aggregation the process is symmetrical to the center of the first element, but symmetry could be impaired by switching to multiplication of smaller groups non-concurrently by each tip of the structure.

Twisted Generation

The initial volumes are static and used to make the connections. Motion is achieved by rotating the first element 2 times – by 60 and then 45 degrees. The elements are then cut to recieve more options for connectins. The connections are flat-to-flat surfaces only. The volumes do not intersect with each other. Unit X is used to create 3 different combinations. These combinations are then combined themselves in 3 different ways. This cycle goes throughout the whole process and creates an Agregation.

The Hard + the Soft

This project is a research of the communication between Soft and Hard in basic shapes applying generative morphology. The SOFT embodies the organic, the “natural”, unabridged by human interferance.
The HARD represents the honest human intent to organize, structure and create clear and aesthetically pleasing forms. This is the story of the PLAY of these two complete opposites which proves that all that exists can be integrated into harmonious and mutually reliant structures.

The final aggregation consists one element and forms three slightly various components. All of them are made out of two elements, joint with a different connection leg, but each component junction is with the same type of leg. A and B are built of two elements, while C – of three. The soft part serves as an indication of the end of component C. This object is constructed from a triangular shape and has deliberately three angles that are used as junctions. The relation with the number three continue in the amplification process. Although, the aim is to seem like it is multiplying freely, in fact it follows some rules.

The task of this Project is the development of a generative morphology structure, the global growth of which is controlled by local rules. The whole structure is based on a single element, which is added in three different ways and forms thus the Modules A, B and C. Then the three Modules are combined by rotating in the planes XY, XZ and YZ to form the first Family. The result is an aggregation of more open and closed spaces, where the Families are readable from the structure itself. The big aggregation grows and spreads itself in all directions and in all three planes thus forming a generative morphology.

Seemingly everything in the world is different, but if you look closely you will see that the same elements build each construction, no matter what the purpose of the existence is. The essential of diversity is to have some small amount of variations of the cells which to combine in different components that are organised so something unique is been created in the end. The aim of my work is to show how something common could turn into something unique by following some organisational rules. It is amazing that if you have you a certain amount of components and some strict rules of connection you can create a specific form and nothing else out of them.

The aggregation implies an impression of chaos and disorder. Yet, it is logically organized and follows strict hierarchy. The basic building element is a triangle. It forms 3 different units and 1 subunit, which structuralize the whole idea. There are two types of connection between the elements – base to base and face to face. Each modul has two basis – equilateral trianglesThe structure is inspired by natural forces and phenomena. It is somehow an organized dissipation in space.

The aggregation represent fractal-like structure. It is constructed of three basic components (A, B, C) which are maded from one substantive stick. When connected together, these three components generate one parent which is duplicate three times to form one family 1. The second (family 2) is made by duplicating two times two parents and rotating it by 45 degrees. These two families alternate five times (connected only by “B” component) to create first branch. Then I duplicate this branch to create another two. Every five steps my loop terminates, and I change the connecting rules.

The Living Skin

Driven by the long-time interet in complex biological systems, structure, skin I have created this mode which could be named as ‘The Living Skin’. The controls and the association of model elements may represent structural loads, angles, rotation or a simply change in dimensions. What if a building could respond, in real time, to the movement of people, the weather, etc. The concept is to start thinking beyond facades and start seeing architecture as ‘a living skin’. Texture, tactility, and visual interest are the primary drivers for the design.

8bit Aggregation

Aggregation based on three components. Component 1 forms the main family, Component 2 forms Family 2 of three instances which is added to Family 1, and Component 3 is used first – to connect the instances of Family 1 and its second role is an addition to Family 2. Component 3 connects the instances of Family 2 by a pair of equal triangle faces which shares with Component 1. On every even iteration a second branch is starting out of the opposite side of the beginning of the main with 120% its initial size.
